Dr. Blake Matthews
Dr. Blake Matthews graduated from Brigham Young University, where he received his B.S. in microbiology with a minor in organizational behavior. Dr. Matthews received his doctorate of dental surgery (D.D.S.) in 1994 from Creighton University, known for pioneering the way in the art of dental implant technology.
While in dental school, Dr. Matthews began research studies for both the Creighton University and the world-renowned non-profit organization Clinical Research Associates’ (C.R.A.), now known as CR. Through constant research, Dr. Matthews has been able to stay on the cutting edge of technology and deliver the best in modern dentistry.

Dr. Jd Ashman
Dr. JD Ashman knew early in life that he had a passion for dentistry. Unlike most 6th graders, JD took an interest in his friends’ loose teeth and often volunteered in aiding the removal of them. Growing up in Utah county, JD graduated from Timpanogos High school, earned a B.S. in biology at Utah Valley University, and went on to get his DMD at Western University of Health Science in California. JD claims his biggest accomplishment is earning the nickname “white tornado” while competing in baseball and football.
While attending Western University of Health Science, JD was able to expand his knowledge in all areas of dentistry. Since WesternU does not have any specialty programs, JD was able to do several patient cases that only graduate specialty programs have to offer. JD looks forward to learning new innovative technology and embraces the challenges that dentistry has to offer.

I’ve had great experiences at Matthew’s Smiles Dental. The hygienists are always helpful and friendly, and you can watch movies during the cleaning process. I haven’t had any issues with this office or the employees, plus it’s conveniently located. The dentists are friendly as well and give the best care they can offer.

Went to get a consultation on a wisdom tooth that was almost completely grown in and was cutting a hole inside of my cheek and I'm so glad I didnt go elsewhere! The whole office and lobby area was clean, all of the staff was kind and patient, and the doctor who took out my tooth was fast, professional, and I felt absolutely no pain! 10/10 all around! Definitely would recommend!

I think all who I have met who work in any position in this dental office has been genuinely pleasant and interesting to get to know. Good feelings are definitely "catchy". I think Dr. Matthews and his co-workers are knowledgable & ready & willing to help. My questions are answered, and even with coming to Matthews for approx. 25 years, I don't think I've ever had a painful cleaning; good hygenists! I would recommend them!

Started coming here after not being able to see a dentist for years. They are very patient and gentle. Hygienists make sure to check if you’re doing well and take time to explain everything. Dr. Matthew’s made sure to give us options regarding the financing of everything and, unlike many dentists, didn’t make it seem like he was in a rush. We loved it so much we went back to get wisdom teeth extraction. It was quick, professional, clean. We have nothing bad to say about this place. Will be coming here at a regular basis!

I had a cleaning appointment this morning and had a great experience! Everyone at the office was so nice and welcoming. The service was quick, efficient, and thorough—I was in and out in no time. The staff made sure I was comfortable the whole time and explained everything clearly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a professional and friendly dental office!
