At Hamel Dental, we have built our practice around family, continuity, and evidence-based dental care. Located in Clarendon Hills, our father-and-son team has cared for patients of all ages since 1985. Dr. William B. Hamel established the practice after purchasing it from Dr. Wm. H. Keehn, who had founded it in the 1950s, and his son, Dr. Philip J. Hamel, now works alongside him. This longstanding foundation allows us to care for multiple generations of families from throughout the western suburbs while maintaining the trusted relationships that have defined our practice for decades.
We view excellent dentistry as a combination of scientific knowledge and personal connection. Every recommendation we make is informed by current research, and we take the time to explain treatment options clearly while caring for our patients as we would members of our own families. Through ongoing involvement with SPEAR Education, the Seattle Study Club, and the Chicago Dental Society, we continually strengthen our knowledge and incorporate current, evidence-based techniques into our practice. Having two generations of dentists also provides meaningful continuity: patient histories, X-rays, and dental work remain within one practice, allowing us to monitor changes over time. We welcome new patients of every age, and patients may schedule with either doctor or request a specific dentist, with records transferred seamlessly between them.
